The successful Design Estimator will assess and estimate project costs for various design initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design, and the ability to analyse project requirements to provide accurate cost estimations. Key Responsibilities of our Design Estimator: Reporting to the management team your duties as Design Estimator will be varied and will include but not be limited to the following: Design of Fire Systems to BS5839-1 and other systems using AutoCAD and from printed plans (complete systems and fit outs / modification of existing systems) Reading and understanding client specification, drawings, and enquiries Estimation and pricing of appropriate quotations ensuring they are technically and commercially correct Producing professional, high-quality quotations and technical submittals with all technical and commercial content Discussing enquiries/proposals with clients to fully understand their requirements and present our proposal to demonstrate the technical and commercial benefits Senseco can provide. Evaluate and review incoming enquiries to assess if they are a good fit for Senseco to quote in line with our bid/ no bid policy Working closely with Sales and Projects Teams, assisting team members with designs, and reviewing technical content / proposals Predominantly office-based role with the need to carry out site visits / surveys To assist with achieving sales target each month Design Estimator Skills and Experience Our Design Estimator will require the following sills and experience: Microsoft Office literate AutoCAD experienced BS5839-1 Design Experience / training / qualifications Technical knowledge of Fire Detection Systems from different manufacturers and associated systems Knowledge of other related systems is advantageous i.e. Gas Suppression, Water Mist, other extinguishing / suppression systems, Voice Alarm / communication, Security (CCTV, access control, intruder) Time management, and organisational skills Must be able to work under pressure and be flexible to achieve client deadlines Experience within the Fire Industry Excellent negotiation skills Previously experience within commercial environments An in-depth knowledge of current and appropriate fire and life safety regulations is also highly desirable.
