What’s the Job?

We’re looking for a passionate and innovative creative professional lecturer to join our dedicated team within the Business, Enterprise, Digital Technology, and Creative Industries curriculum to inspire the next generation of creative practice students.

Lecturers are responsible for delivering all aspects of creative industries-related subjects such as art, sculpture, photography, media, and engaged practice, as well as planning, preparing, delivering, and assessing a range of qualifications from SCQF Level 6 to Level 10 in a college that aims to be one step ahead.


Who we’re looking for

* A dynamic creative individual with a wide knowledge of contemporary creative practices.
* Ability to plan, devise, and deliver high-quality teaching in areas such as fine art, graphic design, digital media, and other creative disciplines.
* Create innovative teaching materials, including reading assessment lists, digital handouts, and projects.
* Integrate digital and traditional techniques to enhance the learning experience.


To succeed in the role, you will have some or all of the following:

* Evidence of successful professional experience within a creative practice field.
* Knowledge of materials, skills, and contemporary influences in Creative Practice.
* Ability to support students in developing their artistic skills, critical thinking, and professional practice.
* Ability to inspire students to create self-directed project work in a wide variety of media, underpinned by your own professional experience.
* Exhibition and curation experience is desirable but not essential.
* Previous teaching experience at HE level is required.
* Educated at SCQF Level 11 or above with a minimum of a Masters in Contextual Creative Studies or a related field.
* Strong customer service, organization, teamworking, and relationship-building skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in digital skills relevant to the role, including experience using MS Office and other job-specific software/systems.
* Adaptability to evolving digital opportunities and willingness to continuously improve digital competencies.
* Hybrid working arrangements can be accommodated.
