The Mechanical Supervisor is a key role within the Maintenance team, supporting the safe operation of assets, plant productivity, and reliability. As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
Report directly to the Maintenance Manager, overseeing all mechanical maintenance tasks and supervising Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and Mechanical Shift Maintenance Technicians.
This role is crucial for maintaining site safety standards, ensuring compliance with site and industry regulations, and enabling operations as a top-tier COMAH Site. You will work closely with operations to meet quality requirements related to ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001, and cGMP, including cross-contamination prevention.
You will take full responsibility for Mechanical Maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely and promptly. Collaborate with the Planning & Scheduling team and Site Engineers to improve plant reliability across production assets.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Accountabilities: Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained during all work. Manage all mechanical work, including breakdowns, preventive maintenance, compliance, regulatory tasks, and defect resolution, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation in the CMMS system.
2. Team Management: Oversee daily operations of the Mechanical Maintenance team, including work allocation, reviewing work packs, ensuring RAMS are adequate, and managing progress updates.
3. Priority Work: Take responsibility for priority tasks from defect identification to completion, including raising PRs, organizing resources, and creating RAMS.
4. Documentation and Administration: Ensure all work is documented and closed out properly. Manage timekeeping, holidays, disciplinary matters, and deputize for the Maintenance Manager.
5. Planning and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to develop job packs, RAMS, and schedules. Contribute to root cause analyses and follow-up actions to improve equipment performance.
6. SHEQ: Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards. Promote a safety culture, report incidents, and suggest improvements.
7. Equipment Management: Ensure timely completion of PMs, compliance, and regulatory work orders. Supervise technicians, support projects, and liaise with OEM contractors for inspections and future maintenance planning.
