Head of Physics
A large and well-regarded secondary school based in Ealing, West London is seeking to appoint a Head of Physics to start in September 2026. This is a full-time, permanent leadership position suitable for an experienced Physics Teacher looking to take the next step in their career or an established Head of Physics seeking a new challenge. Working hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, with additional responsibilities in line with a middle leadership role. Salary will be in line with Outer London MPS/UPS plus TLR (dependent on experience). On-site parking is available for staff.
Head of Physics - Ealing, West London
Lead and manage the Physics curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and achievement. Develop and implement schemes of work that are ambitious, engaging and aligned with examination specifications. Monitor student progress within Physics, using data effectively to drive improvement and close attainment gaps. Support and develop members of the Science department through coaching, mentoring and collaborative planning. Promote a culture of high expectations, academic curiosity and a passion for scientific enquiry. Contribute to whole-school leadership initiatives and support the wider aims and ethos of the school.

Qualifications and Person Specification:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A degree in Physics or a closely related subject
Proven track record of strong outcomes in Physics at GCSE and/or A-Level
Experience of leading or supporting curriculum development
Strong organisational, leadership and interpersonal skills
Commitment to high expectations and inclusive practice
