Our client, a prominent firm within the construction sector, is currently seeking a skilled Project Engineer to assist in the delivery of civils works for a project at Stansted. This initial 6‑month contract role has been deemed inside IR35 and requires a solid background in civil engineering, with an emphasis on groundworks and piling.
Key Responsibilities
 * Act as the Project Manager's representative on site, providing daily oversight and technical input.
 * Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and programme.
 * Identify and report defects and non‑conformances; track and manage close‑out actions.
 * Review and accept contractor permit submissions.
 * Coordinate with Construction Managers and assist in resolving site blockers.
 * Liaise with stakeholders to ensure operational alignment.
 * Validate contractor‑reported progress and highlight discrepancies.
 * Provide technical expertise on construction methodologies and techniques.
 * Review RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, CEMP, and other contractor documentation.
 * Advise on potential Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Events (CEs), and support validation of contractor claims.
Job Requirements
 * Strong background in civil engineering, including groundworks and piling.
 * Familiarity with heavy lifting operations and associated safety protocols.
 * Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
 * Ability to work on‑site at Stansted Airport up to three days per week.
