We’re looking for a patient, supportive, and switched-on Speech & Language Support TA to work across inclusive primary schools in Southwark. You’ll play a vital role in helping pupils with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) access learning, build their confidence, and develop essential skills.
You don’t need to be a speech therapist—but you do need empathy, consistency, and a love for helping children find their voice.
What your role might involve:
1. 1:1 or small group sessions focusing on communication development
2. Supporting pupils with speech delays, processing needs, or social language skills
3. Liaising with SENCOs, speech therapists, and teachers to deliver personalised support
4. Encouraging verbal interaction, vocabulary use, and communication strategies
We’re looking for someone who:
5. Has experience supporting pupils with SLCN or related needs
6. Brings calm, positive energy to their support role
7. Is confident using visuals, routines, and communication tools
8. Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service – or is happy to apply
