Job Description
The Manufacturing engineer is part of the site maintenance team, responsible for maintaining the manufacturing equipment and the maintenance to the buildings.
They are relied on to provide engineering solutions to ensure the continuity of production.
Salary DOE.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Work safely at all times following Company Health and Safety guidelines.
* Investigating production problems.
* Making improvements to current operations to enhance efficiency.
* Improve Equipment Maintenance & Reliability.
* Perform mechanical repairs on production equipment including welding, fabrication and modification of pipework, supports and frames.
* Carry out welding, basic machining, cutting for urgent repairs or equipment up‑grade.
* Respond to breakdowns.
* Installing equipment.
* Repairing equipment.
* Diagnosing faults.
* Suggest new equipment, processes and procedures.
* Liaise with production on any key issues.
* Control third‑party contractors while on site.
* To maintain a safe working environment and ensure health and safety policies are adhered to.
* Employer has the right to amend and update key responsibilities & performance measures from time to time if necessary.
Performance Measures
* Reducing downtime.
* Improving efficiency of machinery and product quality.

* Maintenance cost avoidance.
Qualifications and Experience
* Working within a manufacturing environment is desirable.
* 2+ years experience in a mechanical role is essential.
* Experience proof welding, fabrication, cutting or pipework.
* Experience in diagnosing equipment faults.
* Pro‑active, able to work on own initiative.
* Qualified to HNC/HND in a mechanical engineering qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Work as part of a team.
* Good organisational skills.
* Good communication skills.
* IT skills.
* Analytical skills.
* Commercial awareness.
* A good knowledge of H&S within the workplace.
