Job Opportunity: Kitchen/Refectory Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen/Refectory Assistant to join our friendly team at Oaklea Convent, home to the Sisters of Mercy and managed by SJOG Hospitaller Services.
Working Hours:
1. 5 hours on Tuesdays from 8.30am to 1.30pm as a Kitchen Assistant
2. Additional 15 hours across the week, which may include housekeeping and/or reception duties, depending on service needs
Our organization prides itself on working in partnership with the Sisters to support their elderly members and manage their care homes. You will carry out various duties as detailed in the job description to ensure smooth service operation.
Candidate Requirements:
* Ability to demonstrate the core values of the charity and the Sisters of Mercy
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to attain)
* Experience working in a busy kitchen
* Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Excellent organizational skills
* Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative
* Ability to respond effectively to guidance and direction
Flexibility to work hours including weekends is required.
