Project Officer – All Age Work Experience and Placements
Up to 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Temporary up to 31 March 2026
£37,404 - £40,872 / £20.50 - £22.40 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
The Local Employability Partnership is looking to commission a project to scope and develop a flexible, inclusive, and accessible all-age work experience and work placement programme for Orkney Islands Council.
This initiative aims to support local residents, particularly those facing barriers to employment, by providing meaningful, supported opportunities to gain skills, confidence, and experience in the workplace.
We are looking for an individual who will engage with key stakeholders. You'll review existing models and best practices in employability and placement programmes, facilitate and co-design workshops or focus groups where appropriate, and deliver a final report with a detailed framework, implementation plan, and recommendations for sustainability.
The minimum knowledge required for this role can be evidenced by either holding an SVQ4 or other equivalent qualification at SCQF8/9 or, where this is not held, you should have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
