The job itself

Paull Primary School is a welcoming, inclusive village school with a strong sense of community and a commitment to nurturing every child to achieve their best. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and creative teacher to join our dedicated team on a fixed-term basis for one year. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner with experience in EYFS and KS1 to make a positive impact within our school community.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Early Years provision, inspire young learners and contribute positively to the ethos and wider life of the school. This post would suit teachers who are committed to high standards, inclusive practice and child-centred learning.

At Paull Primary School, we value the importance of outdoor learning and believe that children learn best through exploration, curiosity and first-hand experiences. Our Forest School ethos supports children to develop confidence, resilience, independence and teamwork while fostering a strong connection with the natural environment. We are looking for a teacher who shares this passion and can incorporate engaging outdoor learning opportunities into everyday practice.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate will:

1. Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
2. Have experience of teaching within Early Years and Key Stage 1.
3. Demonstrate the skills of a good teacher, using first-hand experiences to interest, motivate and encourage pupils.
4. Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences.
5. Demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills.
6. Create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment where all children can thrive.
7. Use assessment and tracking information effectively to inform planning and ensure strong pupil progress.
8. Value outdoor learning and contribute positively to our Forest School ethos.
9. Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external agencies to support pupils’ needs.
10. Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.

We Can Offer

11. Enthusiastic children who enjoy learning.
12. A welcoming and supportive staff team.
13. A caring and inclusive school environment.
14. Opportunities for professional development.
15. A strong commitment to wellbeing, outdoor learning and community engagement.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.

To apply, please complete the application form and return it by the closing date.
