Job Description
In this role, the Production Manager will:
1. Plan and oversee production operations, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output in a low-volume, job shop environment.
2. Lead a multidisciplinary team of machinists, welders, and assemblers, fostering collaboration and accountability.
3. Implement lean manufacturing principles to drive process improvements and support enhancements in production planning and purchasing.
4. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team achievement and cross-functional cooperation with engineering, procurement, and customer service.
5. Coach and mentor team members, modeling ideal behaviors such as discipline, safety, and attention to detail.
6. Train employees in quality standards, monitor workflow, and conduct annual performance evaluations.
7. Support recruitment efforts, participating in interviews and selection processes to fill open roles.
8. Enforce company policies while maintaining open communication through an open-door leadership approach.

The Successful Applicant
A successful Production Manager should have:
9. Strong Experience within CNC and Machine Shop Environments
10. Extensive manufacturing leadership experience, particularly in operations where machining is a core process and production is low-volume/job shop style.
11. Proven ability to develop and implement manufacturing strategies, driving process improvements and operational efficiency.
12. Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, with Belt certification preferred.
13. Engineering mindset, with a systems-based, data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
14. Hands-on experience in engineered product environments, with proficiency in P&L management, MRP systems, Excel, and technical problem-solving tools.
15. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering required; MBA or Master's in Engineering preferred.
16. Demonstrated success managing teams of 15+ employees, with a focus on performance, development, and accountability.
