Overview
The Mental Health Support Teams in Schools (MHST) have been developed with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community in response to the government’s Green Paper for Young People’s Mental Health. We are looking for an inspirational and experienced leader for our staff team within the Mental Health Support in Schools Team for Blandford and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a team of professionals working within educational settings, supporting those training to be Education Mental Health Practitioners and the qualified staff.
* Work alongside the Service Lead and other Team Leads to develop the team and ensure the highest quality of care is delivered to children, young people and families.
* Be part of the Senior Management Team and influence Team and Service development.
* Provide clinical development support to team members, ensuring services are accessible, responsive, and promote participation of children, young people, families and carers.
* Take clinical and line management responsibility for a number of staff within the team, ensuring high quality, child and young person focused service.
* Work in partnership with education and local authority colleagues, attending meetings and panels, and promoting joint working practices.
* Collaborate with other Team Leads across the service to ensure provision to schools and educational premises is needs-led.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Employment requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; the Trust covers the cost.
* Applicants who can present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check may apply.
* Applicants requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are not eligible.
