Join our team as a Visiting Officer and play a crucial role in providing a high-quality, professional service across the Assessment Hub. This position involves a variety of tasks including inspecting properties, conducting residency checks, and assisting vulnerable customers without support. As a Visiting Officer, you will need to produce detailed reports and follow standard procedures with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspecting empty or altered properties
* Conducting residency checks and assessment visits
* Assisting housebound or vulnerable customers without support
* Collecting income-related data and other council reductions
Requirements
* Experience in providing a visiting service
* Adaptability and willingness to work across different hubs
* Strong communication skills for explaining complex matters
* Good IT and technical skills
* Commitment to continuous professional development
Essential Knowledge:
* Understanding of collection, income-related assessments, and benefit services
* Knowledge of best practices in income collection and assessment within a local authority
* Familiarity with welfare benefits and value for money principles
Additional Information:
* Start date is flexible
* Enhanced DBS without barring list required
* Candidates must be car owners/drivers
