Salary: Circa £87,200 DOE + bonus scheme

Your Role
As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will:
* Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges within advanced radar systems.
* Apply your broad systems engineering expertise to guide design, resolve issues, and ensure technical rigor.
* Perform detailed system analysis, manage design trade-offs, and lead the decomposition and governance of requirements using approved toolsets like IBM DOORS Next.
* Act as a central technical authority, driving system-level decision-making and mentoring team members.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists to shape integrated design solutions.
* Direct system integration, oversee test planning and execution, and define acceptance strategies that demonstrate system performance across diverse operational scenarios.
Core Duties
* Develop novel solutions to evolving technical challenges for complex radar systems.
* Steer and develop technical solutions using your knowledge of Systems Engineering principles.
* Conduct system design analysis to manage trade-offs and specify robust product design.
* Lead the decomposition of requirements and manage them in approved toolsets.
* Provide guidance to your team while leading analysis activities and system design decisions.
* Collaborate with specialists across various engineering disciplines to realize overarching system design solutions.
* Direct and undertake system integration, test planning, and execution.
* Define and articulate system acceptance strategies and evidence demonstrating system performance.
Essential Skills
* Experience in systems design, integration, and testing.
* Understanding of Systems and Product lifecycles from concept to delivery.
* Familiarity with a range of engineering disciplines (Software, Mechanical, Electrical).
* Knowledge of Radar Systems is desirable but not essential if you can quickly grasp new technologies.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Experience presenting technical and non-technical information in formal settings.
* A degree (or equivalent) in an engineering or science discipline.
