EQUANS are looking for a Critical Infrastructure Manager working on our Media City contract in Salford. This role would be a permanent full‑time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
The role will involve supporting the Contract & Account Manager managing the delivery of compliant technical services and Critical Engineering (CIM) systems across the Media City contract at Salford, together with the day‑to‑day management of systems and company processes. Ensuring that the EQUANS safe systems of work are managed and adhered to by our resident teams and specialist sub‑contractors.
The post holder must have significant expertise in managing complex and high‑risk engineering systems in critical buildings and environments within the corporate sector and work closely with the wider AE team to define, implement, monitor and audit suitable safe systems of work and appropriate operational systems and processes that will add value to our ‘business as usual’ delivery to the Customer.
The role will also provide specialist subject matter expertise (SME) support across the contract, including supporting bids, new opportunities and day‑to‑day operational support by providing advice and guidance on best practice standards, system and operational asset performance improvements.
Impact
Working to high standard of Building Maintenance. We require a fully reliable Improver who can work on own initiative or within a team environment. Produce high quality reports of their findings along with estimates, for producing quotations. The role will involve being the face of EQUANS so smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others is required.

* Perform a technical appraisal of the infrastructure, power profile and load balancing.

* Carry out Pro-Forma assessments of critical systems to identify single points of failure and any potential risks to service delivery.
Operational Management
* Proactively and professionally manages Customer relationships by delivering a consistent high quality of service.
* Ensures compliance with all company programmes, processes and procedures.
* Ensure both the EQUANS and client Health and Safety policies are clearly understood and implemented throughout the teams.
* Identifies opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness.
* Escalates any major issues appropriately.
* Actively lives, demonstrates and supports the company values and operating principles.
* Identify market proven innovations to promote “Best Practice” management of data centres.
* Perform Stone turning exercises to identify single point failures within the infrastructure.
* Generate and provide proposals or contingency plans to mitigate identified issues.
People Management
* Supports the retention, motivation and development of the team.
* Manages performance of team against clear objectives and expectations.
* Engages the HR team to ensure that best practice appropriate to the needs of the business is applied across all site operations.
* Builds team dynamic through training, support, development, and attaining buy‑in from staff.
* Best Drill exercises used for engineer teams to assess site knowledge and identify areas of short fall in training.
* Engage teams in scenario assessments for business continuity planning and identifying weaknesses in restoring service delivery.
Strategic Management
* Understands the culture, issues and business strategy / direction of the client / contract.
* Can develop strong relationships with key operational contacts and can deal effectively with them.
* Understands EQUANS strategic direction and deploys agreed actions to align contract performance with key company deliverables.
* Deploys necessary actions to ensure effective implementation of change management strategies.
* Engage with customers to attain recognised accreditations for data centre operation, management and sustainability.
* Assist customers in reducing environmental impact and carbon footprint.
* Examine potential for improvements to general and critical systems for future builds and additions to the site footprint.
* Generate and manage Life Cycle Risk register and End of Life assets. Quarterly meetings with customer to inform of component / equipment age and Identification of critical spare

Qualifications, or Required Experience
Essential
* Higher National Certificate (HNC) Electrical Engineering
* IOSH Diploma Occupational Health and Safety
* City &Guilds 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
* Appropriate HV & LV Qualifications
* Operational management experience.
* Good communication skills
