Description
The logistics department is a fast-paced team who thrive on the delivery of interchangeable infrastructure and site set ups throughout the calendar year. The team manage the end-to-end delivery of logistics for all live events and activities. Providing onsite support during the events and engage with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders to deliver an efficient solution for all logistical needs and challenges.

Overview

Silverstone Circuits is looking for a proactive Logistics Assistant to support the Logistics Supervisor in delivering the set up & breakdown of all events. Maintain the appearance of the venue, distribute furniture and equipment across site, in a timely & professional manner. Provide high-end service to all stakeholders.


Key Relationships

* Catering and Hospitality Team
* Corporate Events and Public Events Teams
* All internal departments including AV, venue services, facilities & estates, and health & safety
* Third party venue users, suppliers, and contractors


Key Responsibilities

* Support in the setup and breakdown of all events as instructed by the Logistics Supervisor, Logistics Manager or Event Manager.
* Responsible for the storage and distribution of all furniture and equipment across the site on a day-to-day basis, ensuring correct inventory is delivered and set up to the right location, at the right time.
* Ensure daily tasks are signed off by the Logistics Supervisor.
* Stay aware of daily health and safety changes to site.
* Assist on live events where required.
* Keep front and back of house areas clean and tidy, including storage areas.
* Assist in maintaining a site asset inventory, including sensitive equipment, and operate a tracker sign-in/out system.
* Ensure all equipment (internal & external) is accounted for, maintained, stored properly, and cared for.
* Inspect external hire equipment on receipt and on collection; report issues to the Logistics Supervisor.
* Report equipment failure, damages and missing equipment to the Logistics Supervisor or Manager.
* Ensure safe loading/unloading of deliveries using correct methods.
* Responsible for driving company vehicles across site, moving, returning, and positioning inventory assets or goods safely.
* Ensure all vehicles, buildings and storage areas are secure at close of business.
* Understand Risk Assessments and safe ways of working; use correct PPE for tasks.
* Conduct before/after checks on vehicles and equipment and record information.

* Being punctual and presentable.
* Conscientiously completing tasks to a high standard within agreed time frames.
* Uphold the professional image and culture of the Silverstone Team.
* Support the team to deliver high-standard customer experience and service.


Performance Responsibilities

* Performance will be monitored through objectives set in the Personal Development Review (PDR) process.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

* Experience in a similar role.
* Fluent in written and spoken English.
* Strong communication skills.
* Hands-on role requiring daily lifting and carrying of inventory.
* Polite and empathetic manner.
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Excellent attention to detail and pride in work.
* Proactive and solution-driven with a can-do attitude.
* Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings.
* Full clean UK driving licence.
* Forklift Certificate and/or Telehandler licence (desirable).
* Class 2 HGV licence (desirable).
* Manual Handling certificate.
