Job title: Data Integration Engineer
Location: London / Hybrid (3 days on-site)
Duration: 6 Months (with potential extension)
Rate: £700 PWD via umbrella (top end of the range)
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Integration Engineer to join our client's team on a contract basis. You will play a key role in designing and delivering robust data integration solutions that support business intelligence, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-impact environment within the banking sector.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement data integration solutions using ETL tools and methodologies.
Manage and optimize SQL Server and Oracle databases to ensure high performance and availability.
Collaborate with stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver effective integration strategies.
Ensure compliance with data quality, security, and regulatory standards (banking focus).
Build and maintain data marts, focusing on data modeling and transformation.
Support regulatory reporting systems and assist with AQR reporting for the ECB.
Leverage cloud storage solutions and middleware technologies to improve data processing.
Troubleshoot complex data issues, identify root causes, and deliver effective solutions.Essential Skills & Experience
Strong expertise in data integration, PL/SQL, and T-SQL.
Hands-on experience with SQL Server and Oracle.
Proficiency in ETL tools (SSIS, DataStage, Alteryx) and data modeling.
Demonstrated experience with regulatory reporting systems in the banking sector.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively across teams.
Excellent time management and collaboration skills.Desirable Skills
Exposure to Azure, Databricks, and middleware (IIB, Kafka, MQ).
Experience in creating and managing data marts.
