Job Description Position: Funeral Director Location: Stirling area Job Type: Full Time - 40 hours per week Salary: £36-38,000 dependant on experience Job Summary An opportunity has arisen to join a well-established, family run independent business. The position of Funeral Director requires a high degree of professionalism, integrity and empathy whilst upholding the exceptional standards of Andrew Anderson & Sons to support families through difficult times. The Funeral Director manages and arranges all aspects of the funeral service from the initial contact, creating funeral arrangements and coordinating the service. Responsibilities & Duties As a Funeral Director, you will report to the management team at Andrew Anderson & Sons. With high standards of professionalism and empathy, you will be the main point of contact when planning and managing a funeral. You will provide support and care throughout and arrange funerals from start to finish. You are required to always maintain confidentiality and work to the very highest standards. Successful candidates will also be required to take part in the on-call rota. A full UK driving license with no points or convictions is essential as you will be regularly operating company vehicles and chauffeuring families to and from funerals. Main Duties: · Meeting with families to discuss their thoughts and wishes for their loved one’s funeral service · Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and documents required for the funeral arrangements · Coordinate the funeral service logistics · Liaise with celebrants/clergy and other third parties involved in the funeral service · Take an active part in the on-call out of hours rota · Maintain a dignified, helpful and respectful manner when working with clients and colleagues · Drive all company vehicles (including hearse and limousine) as required · Complete any other tasks deemed necessary in the capacity of your role Essential Criteria · Two years previous experience working as a Funeral Director · Excellent communication skills · Ability to build relationships with a focus on client engagement and team collaboration · Meticulous attention to detail · Prioritise tasks effectively · Strong computer/IT skills · Ability to lift heavyweight following health and safety protocols · Maintain composure during challenging times · Full UK Driving Licence · Available to work to the on-call rota Qualifications and Experience We are looking for someone with two years previous experience as a Funeral Director who is eager to grow their current skills and gain new experience as our company expands. All offers of employment made will be subject to the completion of pre-employment screening checks. Our Head office is based in Callander, the successful candidate will work mainly from our Dunblane, Bridge of Allan, Stirling offices and occasionally from our Balfron office. Starting salary is between £36-£38k per annum, depending on experience, with pension contribution too. Further training and development opportunities are available.
