Sub Agent – Water & Civils (freelance - Inside IR35) Stratford, East London £450 per day | Inside IR35 Start: ASAP ⏳ Duration: Until August 2026 or longer The Role TRIbuild are recruiting an experienced Freelance Sub Agent to support the delivery of a major water and civil engineering remediation package in Stratford, East London, working on behalf of Thames Water. The initial scope includes the repair and remediation of bridge structures and trunk sewer assets spanning both rail and road interfaces. The works are currently in design phase, offering a rare opportunity to be involved from project conception through to site delivery on a complex, high-value package. You will assist the Agent and Project Team in managing site activities, leading engineers, driving programme and quality, and ensuring safe, commercially compliant delivery throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities * Support the overall delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and to specification * Lead and manage engineers and sub-agents, promoting high standards of HSQE compliance * Oversee production and implementation of RAMS, ITPs, permits and consents * Manage pre-construction reviews and ensure readiness for site start * Maintain and update construction programmes and short-term lookaheads * Interface daily with the Client and stakeholders, attending meetings as required * Support commercial performance, including cost control, forecasting and variations * Maintain accurate site records, diaries and reporting * Contribute to procurement planning for subcontractors and specialist suppliers * Produce accurate weekly and monthly progress reports Essential Requirements * Proven experience as a Sub Agent within water, structures or heavy civils * Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM Regulations and design management * Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience) * CSCS (minimum) * Excellent communication and leadership skills * Ability to manage technically challenging works and mentor junior staff * Strong focus on health, safety, quality and environmental compliance Desirable * SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely * Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) * Confined Space certification * Lifting operations / Appointed Person or Supervisor experience * Experience delivering similar value, complex remediation or water infrastructure projects Package * £450 per day * Freelance – Inside IR35 * Long-term contract with immediate impact and early design involvement How to Apply If you are an experienced Sub Agent looking for a technically challenging freelance role on a high-profile water infrastructure scheme, please apply with your up-to-date CV. ⏳ Please note: this role may close early due to high interest
