Job Description Payroll Specialist – Permanent – based in Milton Keynes, MK7 Job Purpose: To manage all aspects of payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely monthly payments to employees. This includes collecting work hours, calculating wages, issuing pay slips, and maintaining compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and company policies. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Enter and maintain accurate payroll data in payroll software, including timesheet information, deductions, bonuses, and tax calculations. Manage the full monthly payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments. Handle complex payroll tasks, including pension schemes, employee benefits, and payroll accounting. Securely manage and maintain confidential employee data. Ensure compliance with local payroll laws and regulations, including those in the Republic of Ireland, covering tax and labour obligations. Maintain precise payroll records and documentation for internal and external audits. Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management and finance teams. Respond promptly to employee enquiries regarding payroll discrepancies, pay slips, and changes in payroll information. Person Specification: Strong attention to detail and financial accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Organised, self-motivated, and able to meet tight deadlines independently. Professional, discreet, and trustworthy when handling sensitive information. Experience: Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll administration role. Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end payroll processes. Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel VLOOKUP essential). Working knowledge of ADP software (desirable). Familiarity with payroll compliance in both the UK and Republic of Ireland is advantageous.
