We are looking to recruit an individual to deliver a structured education programme for Type 2 Diabetes locally. Experience of delivering education is preferable but not essential as training will be provided to successful candidates.
You should work well as part of a team but also have the aptitude to work independently.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will deliver the Type 2 Diabetes education programme to patients in Barnsley and also support patients with the setup of glucose monitoring technologies.
The programme is delivered in several different locations across Barnsley; therefore, the successful applicant will need to hold a UK driving license.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs or equivalent including maths and English
* Willing to undertake Diabetes/Adult Education training qualifications to Diploma Level
* Qualification in adult education e.g., BTEC award in education and training
Experience
* Proven experience in presentation skills
* Proven experience of working as part of a team
* Variety of experience in health care or adult education settings
* Experience of setting standards and meeting local targets

Knowledge and Awareness
* Understanding of the processes underpinning structured education delivery.
* Basic understanding of Type 2 Diabetes, causal factors, and pathophysiology
