The Role
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Credit Controller to oversee the internal credit control function. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in managing money coming in and out of the business across multiple entities with international customers.
This position requires someone confident, flexible, and highly dependable, who can communicate effectively across departments and build strong working relationships with Sales, Operations, and wider finance teams.
There are no direct reports, but you will take ownership of the credit control process and ensure efficient cashflow management.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the full credit control function across multiple group companies
* Manage international customer accounts and complex credit arrangements
* Monitor cashflow and ensure timely collection of payments
* Allocate, reconcile, and manage incoming payments accurately
* Handle queries promptly and confidently, working with internal stakeholders to resolve issues
* Liaise daily with Sales and Operations to support smooth financial processes
* Conduct regular account reviews and escalate problem accounts when necessary
* Produce credit control reports for the Financial Controller
* Support continuous improvement of processes and financial controls
* Maintain accurate customer records and credit limits
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and commercial terms
Experience & Skills Required
* Previous credit control experience is essential, ideally at senior level, due to the complexity of the role
* Experience within logistics or a similar fast-paced industry is desirable but not essential
* Confident communicator with the ability to challenge when needed
* Hands-on, adaptable, and able to work independently
* Strong numerical and organisational skills
* Comfortable working with multi-entity structures and international customers
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
* Good working knowledge of Multifreight and Open Accounts is advantageous, but not essential to apply.
