PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £50,000 - £60,000 (plus London Weighting £5,441pa if London based), depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We're now seeking a
Employment Tax Advisor
to join the BBC Tax team. This is a permanent role, based in London.
This role sits in Group Tax and reports to the Employment Tax finance business partner, alongside five finance business partners, who manage corporate tax, VAT, employment taxes and expatriate taxes; three accountants who complete the UK VAT and corporate tax compliance; and a trainee.
There are also tax mangers in the US and India, who support with taxes in those jurisdictions. WHY JOIN THE TEAM
The
Employment Tax Advisor
role is centred around supporting the BBC Group to meet its statutory obligations in respect of Employment Tax. The role will be a mix of compliance and advisory and will provide the Employment Tax Advisor with a breadth of experience across the Employment Tax space.
You will provide professional Employment Tax support to a range of stakeholders, ensuring the BBC Group meets Employment Tax compliance obligations. You will be part of the BBC Group Tax team, and report specifically to the Employment Tax Finance Business Partner.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
As an
Employment Tax Advisor
you will:
* provide advice and support relating to the employment tax (ET) issues of our UK and overseas businesses. This will include working closely with colleagues to drive business performance via the provision of objective advice, insight and challenge
* support the UK businesses with HMRC reviews; assist in developing our relationship with HMRC
* provide updates and recommendations to the business, including HR and Payroll on new ET legislation. This will include leading the Mandatory payrolling of benefits project
* provide technical review and analysis of annual ET filings including the PSAs and forms P11D, as well as looking at innovative solutions to expedite the processes
* continually evaluate ways in which existing Employment Tax process across the BBC group can be further aligned, improved, automated and efficiencies created ensure effective governance, risk management and internal compliance processes and controls are in place
* support the development and implementation of all financial policies and procedures ensuring that these contain appropriate methodologies, internal controls and processes. This will include providing employment tax input to wider initiatives such as Senior Accounting Officer requirements
Your Skills And Experience
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Experience of providing employment tax advice in a complex organisation - able to deal with ambiguity, imprecise or incomplete data and other people's time constraints in requesting information and delivering practical advice.
* Professional accounting and/or tax qualification ACA, ATT, CTA or equivalent
* Organised - Able to multi-task and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
* Stakeholder management - building relationships and trust within an organisation
* Collaborative working – working effectively as part of a diverse team
Desired But Not Required
* in-house experience is desirable but not essential.
