They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced field-based Commissioning Specialist to deliver the growth and ongoing success of their end-to-end commissioning service. The lead Commissioning Specialist is integral to the onsite operations of the service and will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of clean water mains back into supply.
Working with the Field Specialist, the Commissioning Specialist will manage onsite operations at all stages of the commissioning process and will be the central point of contact for all stakeholders during the delivery of this service. A specialist skill set in pressure management and testing is required.
The role will involve the commissioning of newly constructed, upgraded and repaired pipework across all clean water infrastructure. Primarily working on large diameter trunk mains on the strategic network, but including those assets associated with treatment plants, pumping stations, and reservoirs.
Critical responsibilities include: pre-site safety surveys, construct and brief RAMS, resource and kit planning, pressure testing, swabbing, chemical dosing, chlorination and dechlorination, mains flushing and water quality sampling.
Job Duties:
• Ensure complete and unwavering compliance with Company, client and industry HSE regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
• Carry out all tasks required to undertake specialist pressure testing, chlorination, dechlorination and the commissioning of water assets when required.
• Responsible for detailed pre, post and live site surveys, inspections and monitoring including supporting RAMS preparation, approval and onsite briefings, enabling the safe and compliant delivery of this service.
• Liaise directly with all stakeholders including management, desktop and onsite team, third party contractors, suppliers and client representatives to ensure the highest standard of communication between all parties.
• Closely monitor the performance of water treatment system, analysing key parameters such as flow rates, pressure, turbidity, chlorine levels, pH balance and all other relevant indicators to verify compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Identifying root causes of issues that may arise during the commissioning process and troubleshoot to resolve, repair or make adjustments as required in liaison with all stakeholders.
• Beyond troubleshooting, identify issues that require action and escalation to ensure zero impact to water quality, end users and the network.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all activities including survey and audit reports, photo evidence and tests and adjustments throughout the commissioning process.
• Ongoing kit management and maintenance including regulatory pressure testing and disinfection inspections, maintenance of water quality testing and monitoring devices, maintenance of hoses, fittings and specialist vehicles.
• In conjunction with Commissioning leadership team support the strategic growth of the commissioning service by refining the current processes to incorporate pressure testing and other service requirements.
• During intermittent commissioning service down time, liaise directly with the Project Team to manage and deliver probe installations and maintenance programme or an alternative workstream providing essential assistance in the development of the service.
• Some extended shifts including evenings and weekends will be required within working time regulations, In most cases this is planned however at times these are at short notice.
• Line Management duties including ongoing teaching and mentoring, annual and mid-year appraisals, setting objectives and encouraging a positive work culture for your immediate team.
