Job Description:

* Do you want to make a difference?
* Are you passionate about working with children or vulnerable adults with special needs?
* Do you have a social care background?
* Or even had personal experience supporting SEND?

A fantastic SEND school in Cambridge is expanding again this year, which means we are currently looking to fill 10-12 TA vacancies. We are seeking TAs to work within the school, the link, and the new 6th form, and we will assign roles based on your strengths and preferences.

The school has 127 students aged 4-16, primarily with ASD, non-verbal, and who communicate physically. Some students have high medical needs; training will be provided by the nursing team to support these students.

The Link is a growing setting with secondary school pupils who can access mainstream education with additional support. There will be 15 students in September 2025. Core lessons are based in The Link building, with 40% of the curriculum delivered alongside mainstream peers. We need innovative, independent TAs who can work proactively to support the growth of The Link team.

The 6th Form is opening in September, with 11 students starting. These students have significant needs and communication barriers, requiring calm, intuitive, and patient support, including personal care. As this team is new, you will play a key role in establishing systems and resources to support its development.

We require staff available to work 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, to ensure consistent support for the children.

All staff are expected to inspire, motivate, challenge, and support each pupil, regardless of individual needs. A friendly, positive approach and the ability to build strong relationships quickly are essential.

If you are passionate about supporting children with special needs and this role suits you, please apply now!

Applicants must have the appropriate qualifications and training. Please refer to the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for details.

Pay rates are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanency later.

Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding children and will conduct safeguarding checks, including online searches, in line with DfE guidance. We offer free online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training. All candidates must have or obtain a valid enhanced DBS check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.

Full assistance is provided. For our privacy policy, visit the Protocol Education website.
