Job overview
We are looking to recruit 2 Clinical Trials Coordinators within Research and Innovation (R&I) to support research within Paediatric Services.
Post 1 is based within the Paediatric Oncology Research Team with a particular remit to co-ordinate research within the Paediatric BMT research portfolio.
Post 2 is based within the General Paediatric Research Team coordinating research across a number of paediatric specialities.
These roles are available at a band 5 level for applicants with relevant experience. Alternatively the posts are available as developmental posts, starting at band 4 level (Clinical Trials Administrator) with progression to band 5 (Clinical Trials Coordinator) upon meeting set competencies for the band 5 role over the first 6 months in post.
Main duties of the job
Post 1: You will be working within the Paediatric Oncology clinical trial team as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team alongside clinicians, specialist nurses, pharmacists, and other staff. Working for Professor Robert Wynn, Director of Paediatric Stem Cell Transplantation, you will be participating in the set up, coordination and delivery of research in paediatric stem cell transplantation, including advanced therapies (CAR-T).
You will help ensure that comprehensive, high quality and efficient administrative processes are in place for setting up studies, organising necessary approvals, and ensuring full compliance with the regulatory framework. This will include financial management of study set-up costs and income recovery, as well as coordination and data management of various studies, to ensure timely and accurate data collection.
Post 2:The successful candidate working within the General Paediatric Research Team and will be expected to ensure that comprehensive, high quality and efficient administrative processes are in place for setting up studies, organising necessary approvals, data management, ensuring full compliance with the regulatory framework; including financial management of study set-up costs and income recovery in conjunction with the R&I finance team. The post holder will work closely with Investigators, the Trust Research Office, clinical colleagues, and service support departments within MFT along with external pharmaceutical companies.

Person specification
Education
* GCSE/O level Maths and English or equivalent
* Degree in a science or health related discipline, or a degree in another field with experience in clinical trials.
* ECDL
Knowledge and Experience
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and other packages.
* Use of email and internet.
* Extensive experience of databases and spreadsheets, including inputting, analysis and report writing.
* Experience of office administration.
* An understanding of the research processes in the NHS including research governance and regulations relating to research practice.
* Previous work in NHS
Skills and aptitudes
* Advanced keyboard skills/touch typing.
* Good organisational abilities, with a methodical approach and the ability to pay attention to detail.
