As we win new work, our workload increases, creating an exciting opportunity to join our established Belfast team. You will be responsible for the design and management of mechanical building services projects in complex buildings, including refurbishments of existing structures. In some cases, you will be part of a larger team on major projects, as well as managing your own projects.
The role includes:
* Delivering engineering design solutions covering all aspects of mechanical building services engineering consultancy.
* Managing the end-to-end process from concept design to site installation and commissioning.
* Carrying out calculations and coordinating mechanical services with high accuracy.
* Working within a team to deliver complex, large-scale projects.
* Engaging across sectors such as commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, education, and leisure, in both public and private domains.
* Mentoring and supporting the development of junior staff, including Graduates and Apprentices.
* Understanding contractual matters, project management, team management, and change control.
About You:
You should have relevant education and experience in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, and be a member of CIBSE, IMechE, IET, or a similar professional body. Relevant design experience will also be considered.
* Ability to handle meetings with clients and contractors throughout all project stages.
* Experience in the design and supervision of projects.
* Chartered Engineer or working towards chartered status.
* Experience in managing projects, especially in health, education, and/or defence sectors, is beneficial.
* Current driving license.
* Ability to work within a team on major complex projects across the UK.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, with REVIT experience welcomed.
* Understanding of IES or other thermal modelling software.
* Energy Assessor capabilities are advantageous.
* Understanding of BREEAM on M&E Services.
* Experience with Hevacomp or similar calculation software.
* Willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland for project work; worldwide travel on short notice is also welcomed.
* Willingness to obtain necessary security clearances is beneficial.
