What you'll do

* Stable Duties – Managing horses' daily routine, feeding, and exercising to keep them fit and well-schooled for guests to ride safely.
* Managing horses' shoeing, worming, saddlery, dentistry, and veterinary requirements.
* Carrying out daily tasks including feeding, hay, mucking out, turn out, grooming, bandaging, and maintaining the stable, horses, and equipment in immaculate condition.
* Guest Interaction – Dealing with enquiries, bookings, and requests from internal and external guests promptly and appropriately.
* Fitting guests with safety equipment before riding, maintaining safety equipment according to best practice guidelines, and keeping it clean and organized.
* Teaching guests of the hotel and local clients on ponies and horses with knowledge, enthusiasm, and care for safety at all times.
* Managing daily horse allocations for teaching, ensuring the well-being of horses and safety of guests.
* People: Mobilize and inspire team members and supervisors to build a high-performing team to achieve business goals and service standards.
* Mentor, train, and coach team members.
* Manage shift coverage, workload, and resource distribution within and across teams.
* Participate in interviewing, hiring, induction, and succession planning.
* Monitor and evaluate team performance.
* Admin
* Assist the Equestrian Manager with guest bookings and confirmations.
* Manage individual horse/pony files, ensuring they are up to date.
* Oversee daily yard management and task assignment.
* Assist with orders, farrier, and vet bookings.
* Source additional horses/ponies for loan, lease, or purchase as needed.
* Health & Safety
* Comply with statutory and company health and safety regulations, including fire, bomb, and security protocols.
* Keep certificates such as First Aid, Child Protection, and CRB checks up to date.
* Review and update risk assessments and safety procedures regularly.
* Check tack and equipment weekly for faults and address issues.
* Review SOPs and facilitate ongoing training for team members.
* Ensure all guests complete disclaimers before riding.
* Complete and submit accident report forms accurately and promptly.
