Applicants are invited to apply for a Specialty Doctor post in General Medicine based at Withybush General Hospital, Haverfordwest. You will be part of the medical on-call team and supported to develop a specialist interest in medicine.
These posts join colleagues in a dynamic general medicine service within the Health Board, supporting the Welsh Government's NHS Wales vision. The team is expanding with more resident doctors.
This is ideal for those entering a specialty training program, working towards MRCP/CESR (with support), or choosing a non-training post.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must have GMC registration and at least four years of postgraduate training, including two in a relevant specialty or equivalent experience.
The Postgraduate Department offers lectures, meetings, interest groups, and career counseling. The hospital provides a wide range of services, including emergency medical admissions shared among general medical colleagues from various disciplines. Regional support services include Renal and Neurology, with a large ACCU facility managed by Consultant Intensive Care staff.

Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
* Certified Advanced Life Support Skills
* Four years postgraduate training (or equivalent), with at least two in a relevant specialty
* MBBS or recognized equivalent
* MRCP Level 2 or full membership
Clinical Experience (Essential)
* Team approach and multidisciplinary working
* Broad experience in General Medicine
* Knowledge of UK hospital systems or equivalent
* Experience in emergency assessment
* NHS experience
* Research and training in subspecialty services
Clinical Governance (Essential)
* Participation in clinical audits and understanding their role in improving practice
