Job summary
This is a new post created to meet service needs.
There is a vacancy x3 full time Speciality Doctor's working within the The Forensic Mental Health Services. Forensic Mental Health Services relocated to Ridgeway, with its purpose built medium and low secure facilities in May 2010. This facility offers increased capacity, with over 160 medium and low secure male and female in-patients currently receiving care. A wide range of specialties are catered for, including services for intellectually disabled and autistic people. Ridgeway offers spacious accommodation along with a comprehensive range of facilities including its own gymnasium, football pitch, cafe, GP surgery, dental surgery and resource centre. The principal objectives of the service are to cater for mentally disordered patients who require a greater degree of security than can be provided in conventional psychiatric settings in the region, but who do not need the degree of security provided by the High Secure Hospitals. Typically, the needs of service users who require high security would be met at Rampton Hospital in Nottinghamshire.
The service has a full complement of clinical and forensic psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists and technical instructors working into the MDTs. There are supportive and experienced senior nursing colleagues working throughout the service, together with Practice Development Practitioners to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Main duties of the job
