The Opportunity
We have a new vacancy for a General Operative to join our team at our building products site in Torrs, Shepton Mallet.
To operate as a member of a multi-skilled production team producing concrete products. The factory operates a 24/5 shift pattern. Must adhere to our Health & Safety requirements, with a continuous commitment to a zero harm culture. Be enthusiastic and highly motivated. Excellent communication and team working skills are essential, and experience within the industry would be preferable. The ability to be flexible is an advantage. FLT license at least B1 is mandatory.
You will be required to operate and maintain automated block making equipment, including driving forklift trucks and the loading shovel. Other key responsibilities include ensuring excellent housekeeping around the site, managing incoming materials, quality checking all manufactured products, ensuring planned preventative maintenance, and assisting during breakdown situations.
