The Cancer Treatment and Research Trust (CTRT) is looking for a new Trustee to join our board to help guide and grow the charity. As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of the Trust as we continue to support life saving cancer research.

As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of the Trust, ensuring good governance, and helping us achieve our goals. You will be helping to improve lives through advanced medical and scientific research into the causes and treatment of cancer.
What are we looking for?
No prior experience as a charity Trustee is necessary. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences, but are particularly interested in individuals with the following expertise
* Finance
* Fundraising and income generation
* Corporate background
What will you be doing?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our board of Trustees. As per charity law, Trustees have, and must accept, the ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of CTRT, and ensuring that it is solvent, well-run and carrying out the purposes for which it is set up.
You will be joining our board of 8 other trustees made up of 6 oncologists based at the hospitals where our research is carried out, and 2 who bring experience as a solicitor and project manager.
Your Responsibilities
* Attending and actively participating in quarterly board meetings via Teams, with 1 in person meeting per year (usually in the Autumn).
* Providing your expertise and guidance to our team to help further our objectives.
* Serve as an ambassador for the Trust, actively supporting our mission by facilitating introductions that enable our strategic goals, fundraising efforts, and partnership development.
* Safeguarding the reputation of the Trust and ensuring good governance in line with our constitution and current legislation.
There is also the option to be involved in shaping the scientific work of the Trust by serving as a lay reviewer of our grants.
