Gardener - Horticultural Officer
£13.19 per hour
Minimum duration: 3 months
Location: Surrounding Durham and Seaham areas
Essential: Driving Licence
Great opportunity to work with a social housing client. The role involves delivering a proactive, customer-focused estate service alongside the team. You will ensure communal and external areas on estates remain clean, safe, and free from litter and fly-tipping.
Main duties include:
* Inspect estates regularly and take appropriate action to maintain high environmental standards.
* Report potential breaches of tenancy or issues related to private properties.
* Perform minor repairs to properties to prevent deterioration or vandalism.
* Inspect communal areas within flat blocks as required.
* Carry out general gardening and maintenance tasks on properties and land areas.
* Assist in delivering leaflets or information to residents.
* Respond to vulnerable and elderly customers requiring handy person services.
* Coordinate with councils and agencies to resolve pest control issues.
* Work with Council and agencies to identify and resolve safety hazards, including dangerous trees, street lighting, potholes, or broken pavements.
* Conduct needle searches in vacant properties where required.
* Report outstanding repairs related to assets.
* Support the training and development of apprentices through daily work.
* Comply with confidentiality and information security policies.
* Duties may vary within the scope of the role.
