This is a permanent position with the shift pattern as Tuesday 13.15 to 17.00 Wednesday to Friday 09.00 - 17:00.
We are seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist with a particular interest in working with young people (aged up to 18 years) who present with mental health difficulties. You will be based in West Dunbartonshire CAMHS, at the Acorn centre and will help to deliver an Occupational Therapy Service within a multi-disciplinary setting. Experience of working in either mental health or paediatrics is desirable.
You will be supported by a Lead Occupational Therapist in the role and be part of a wider CAMHS Occupational Therapy Team.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, assessing young people who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health, supporting formulation and devising care plans. You will be involved in the diagnosis of neurodevelopmental conditions and supporting YP to maximise their occupational performance. Your role will include both individual and group work interventions.
You will be part of shaping therapeutic group work within the team. You will be provided with an induction that includes both Occupational Therapy specific and multi-disciplinary input and will be given access to regular CPD opportunities. We are committed to providing regular supervision, as well as developing reflective practice and evidence based interventions. You will also be expected to support a student placement programme.
You may be seeking a sideways move to a new and different field or a promotion. Regardless of your background, you will be able to demonstrate that you have the necessary interpersonal and communication skills to work with children, young people and their families. You should be HCPC registered and have relevant experience in Occupational Therapy that you can transfer to this role.
