What you will be doing
as an Area Services Manager?
1. Key focus on maintenance strategies to support driving asset efficiencies, reduced failure rates and overall site resilience.
2. Deliver a consistent approach to asset operation and maintenance to demonstrate a cost efficient, robust and safe operation 24/7.
3. Responsible for technical input to site improvements projects to secure effective and efficient solutions identified and supported.
4. Responsible for identifying, mitigating, resolving and escalating risk across the site and team and act as a point of escalation where required.
5. Lead, manage and develop staff to achieve agreed objectives, providing strong leadership aligned with the Thames Water Values.
6. Effectively lead the Health, Safety and Wellbeing culture of the team as well driving and creating an environment where good practices are a way of everyday life and total compliance is adhered to in line with Health & Safety Policy. Lead your team to ensure compliance with our statutory inspection programmes.
7. Owning and managing the budgetary and financial activities of the team and driving efficiencies into the overall operational budget to meet the business plan for the AMP for OPEX and CAPEX.
8. Ensuring an exceptional service to both our internal and external customers with early personal interventions as required.
What should you bring to the role?
9. Strong background involving industrial mechanical/electrical maintenance.
10. BTEC / NVQ L3 or equivalent Mechanical / Electrical.
11. Ability to lead and develop people within a team.
12. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Excellent organisational and risk management skill.
14. Strong IT skills, including use of EXCEL and ability to interrogate data within SAP
15. Good knowledge of Health and Safety requirements with NEBOSH or equivalent qualification.
16. Financial management skills and commercial awareness.
17. Good stakeholder engagement and customer focus.
18. UK Drivers Licence.
19. Willingness to complete relevant process and leadership courses relevant to role (ie Authorised Person Digester (APD) & COTC holder for relevant sites)
