Overview
I am exclusively retained on a new search with a global business in the entertainment sector looking for a seasoned corporate and commercial lawyer to join the team.
The current team has the GC, another senior lawyer and a Paralegal so this would be the 4th member. The business operates across a number of countries and they are looking for someone who is experience of working in a broad role covering many areas of corporate from governance to M&A as well as wide ranging commercial contracts experience.
This is far more likely to suit someone who is in house already based on the breadth of work. They are reasonably sector agnostic if a candidate can demonstrate that they can balance the willingness to manage smaller tasks with demonstrating the communication skills and gravitas to deal with senior management.
The company is set up in such a way that you may deal with the CEO on a major project one minute and on the same day be required to handle a relatively basic task. The key for them is the appreciation of the need to do both well and in a timely manner. The quality of team is excellent and you will work with a business that is very collaborative and open.
The set up of the business means everyone is in the office Mon-Thu and can work from home on a Friday and this is something any application will need to be happy with. There aren’t too many jobs that will expose you to a wider set of work and I think it represents a great opportunity for the right person.

Qualifications / Experience
* In-house experience preferred, with a breadth of corporate and commercial work.
* Ability to work across multiple areas of corporate, including governance, M&A, and contracts.
* Strong communication skills and capability to interact with senior management and the CEO.
* Willingness to take on varied tasks and a readiness to operate in a sector-agnostic environment.
