Are you an experienced Animal Care Technician looking for an exciting new job opportunity?
We are currently looking for an Animal Bioservices Technician to join a leading scientific research company based in the Edinburgh area.
As the Animal Technician you will be responsible for providing technical maintenance of different species of animals and their accommodation. This will include basic animal husbandry as well as scientific procedures on animals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties as the Bioservices Technician (Animals) will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. You will be responsible for the feeding and cleaning of different animals and ensuring their comfort, ensuring the cleanliness of animal accommodation.
2. Recognition and assessment of suffering and disease in various animal species, to ensure that the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act regulations are correctly applied.
3. You will also be responsible for operating and basic maintenance of machine for example tractors, forklift, cage wash and autoclaves.
Role Requirements
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Bioservices Technician (Animals) we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Experience with multi-species animal husbandry is essential for this position. An Animal Sciences qualification is not essential but desirable.
2. You will need to have a driving license with trailer and competency certificate to transport animals.
