There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health Visitor to join the Aberatwe Bay University Health Board as a Practice Development Nurse.
The position will be 22.5 hours per week and will be based at Central Clinic, Swansea
Main duties of the job
The role of the practice development nurse within Health Visiting Services will be to recognise, develop, implement and work alongside
the Lead Nurse and Operational Team Leads to facilitate diverse training in line with current best practice guidelines and to meet the
needs of the patient population across Swansea Bay University Health Board.

• Act as an advocate and lead for – the health visiting service, establishing links with Local and National forums and Groups to deliver
training programmes. Work alongside education leads to access funding opportunities for the workforce, and support facilitation of
placements for Pre-Registration students and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (health visiting) Students.
• Participate in clinical audits and research to identify areas for quality improvement, developing learning packages to facilitate
improvements, acting as a change agent to ensure the best care is delivered.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Registered Nurse on part one of the NMC register, with relevant experience at level 6.
2. Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting) qualification.
3. MSc / level 7 equivalent short courses / or equivalent clinical experience.
4. Practice Assessor/ Supervisor course.
Desirable criteria
5. Post registration Leadership and Management qualification.
Experience
Essential criteria
6. Significant post registration experience as a SCPHN (Health Visitor).
7. Working with a range of managers and clinicians in challenging and changing environments. Good leadership/management skills.
Desirable criteria
8. Involvement in service development and quality initiatives.
