Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary up to £39,929 per annum and a generous benefits package (plus a £2,000 South East Allowance per annum for Culham based employees)

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. As our Performance Management Officer you will develop, implement and maintain measures of organisational performance, undertaking analysis and producing recommendations to drive improvements. You will contribute to the development of processes and provide management information to aid in strategic decision making.

We’re looking for someone with keen research and analytical skills to join our team to develop and maintain information systems and Power BI reports and maintain the Power BI database and user permissions. You’ll liaise with stakeholders to scope requirements, identify data sources, build reports (including extract, transform load – ETL), data dependency mapping and data visualization. You’ll develop and implement the use of Power Automate to streamline data collection within the CNC and disseminate information to stakeholders in an easily understandable format. You will also maintain procedural documents for the creation of performance data reports, including metric definition records and audit trails.

To be successful in the role you will have knowledge and working experience of organisational performance management, statistic and information gathering techniques. You’ll be confident in using a range of ERP systems and extracting data. You’ll be an excellent user of Excel and spreadsheets, including Power Query and M formula language creation and modification – ideally you’ll be competent in using Power BI, but this isn’t essential – as we would support you to learn this on the job. You’ll be a confident communicator; both written and verbally, with good interpersonal and influencing skills.

Some of the responsibilities of this role include:

12. Develop and maintain information systems using the appropriate technology to enable effective performance management information collection and dissemination
13. Develop new, and maintain and improve existing Power BI reports. Liaising with stakeholders to scope their requirements, identification of data sources, report building including extract, transform load (ETL), data dependency mapping and data visualization including use of DAX formulae where appropriate.
14. Develop and implement use of Power Automate to streamline data collection.
15. Maintain Power BI database and user permissions regarding to sensitive, personal or SNI data.
16. Maintain procedure documents for the creation of performance data reports including metric definition records and appropriate audit trails
17. Disseminate the required information, to stakeholders in an easily understood format.
18. Liaise with and learn from other constabularies or relevant organisations in terms of benchmarking exercises and adherence to good practice
19. Deputise for or represent the Team at key meetings and working groups and as otherwise required from time to time.
20. Produce ad-hoc reports on request for managers and Senior Officers within the CNC.
21. Carry out such other duties as requested, which are consistent with the nature and responsibilities of the post.

To be successful in the role you will need to display the following experience and skills:

22. Knowledge of and work-related experience of organisational performance management.
23. Good working knowledge of statistic and information gathering techniques.
24. Ability to use a range of ERP systems and extract data
25. Excellent/Advanced spreadsheet skills preferably including Power Query knowledge and M formula language creation and modification.
26. Business Insights platform skills and experience – the role requires proficiency with Microsoft Power BI and using it to produce new reports.
27. Potential for candidate with excellent Excel skills to learn Power BI whilst in the role.
28. Excellent document writing skills.
29. Good interpersonal and influencing skills.
30. Good time management skills with the ability to organise and prioritise.
31. Research and analytical skills.
32. Good articulation and an effective communicator.
33. Strong listening skills with an ability to pay attention to detail.
34. Capable of working unsupervised with a proactive approach.
