Registered ODP/Nurse
Exciting opportunity to join our expanding endoscopy unit at the Royal Liverpool Hospital.
We are one of the largest endoscopy level 4 units.
We currently run 7 theatres at the Royal Liverpool and are expanding to Broadgreen Hospital with 3 additional procedure rooms.
We are JAG accredited and perform daily activities such as EMR, ERCP, Bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, and bowel cancer screening.
We currently run 4 GA lists a week.
Endoscopy experience is desirable but not essential as extensive training will be given.
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care.
Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team, have good communication skills, and undertake delegated tasks from the ward sister/charge nurse.
All staff are trained in all aspects of endoscopy, with skills updated on Jets Database.
Participate in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and carers, maintaining agreed standards of nursing care.
Determine nursing priorities and plan patient care, informing the nurse in charge of any changes affecting patient care.
Maintain nursing records according to NMC and Trust guidelines.
Contribute to the development of Essence of Care and clinical benchmarking to improve patient care quality.
Respect patients' customs, values, and spiritual beliefs.
Provide information and support to patients and carers, ensuring all involved are aware of changes in patients’ conditions.
Assist in the safe custody, checking, and administration of drugs.
Develop clinical knowledge and skills to care for acutely ill patients admitted via planned and unplanned routes.
