Are you passionate about protecting our rivers and the environment? Do you thrive in an outdoor, hands‑on role where no two days are the same? We're looking for a Senior Field Technician to support and lead vital work within our River Water Quality Monitoring programme.
In this role, you'll play a key part in helping Severn Trent meet its commitments in ensuring that we understand, protect and enhance the quality of rivers across our region. You will maintain essential monitoring equipment, carry out on‑site assessments, respond to operational issues, and act as a technical expert.

Some Of Your Other Key Accountabilities Will Include
Adherence to agreed procedures that are assessed by regular audits using data and ensuring compliance.
Good verbal and electronic communication to colleagues within the team and wider departments.
Working efficiently within a rota and routes that cover the whole of the courier team
Liaise with numerous departments such as Water/Waste Production operations, Monitoring and scheduling Team, and laboratories with respect to data and information, integrity, operational process and reporting of progress and targets.
Providing first class customer service by owning the internal customers issue and ensuring we deliver on time, addressing any concerns and ensuring the customer is kept informed of any changes.
WHAT WE'ER LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an experienced driver who can deliver scheduled and reactive courier runs, handling both planned routes and short-notice changes.
We want individuals that are used to working in an outside environment and all-weather conditions. Resilience is key It's a balance of Teamwork, communication, manual handling, and health and safety – all whilst working to deadlines.
The ability to prioritise your own workload and act on initiative are key, especially as the role will require a proportionate amount of lone working.
To be successful, it's expected that you'll have the ability to communicate to stakeholders of all levels both internally and externally, whilst still delivering a professional manner under pressure, stay focused and organise routine work.
You must have a full UK driving license (B BE C1 C1E D1 D1E FKLNP) and at least 12 months driving experience using commercial vehicles and knowledge of the UK's road network. Experience with refrigerated vehicles would be highly advantageous.
