Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Foundation Learning Lecturer to join a dynamic and inclusive college in East London on a full-time basis. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support learners with diverse needs, helping them develop essential life, employability, and academic skills for future progression.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching across Foundation Learning programmes, including Entry Level and Level 1 courses
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet individual learner needs
* Support learners in developing key skills such as literacy, numeracy, communication, and employability
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
* Assess, track, and monitor learner progress, providing timely and constructive feedback
* Develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and targeted support strategies
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement
* Work collaboratively with support staff, including learning support assistants and pastoral teams
* Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement processes
* Support learners in progressing to further education, training, or employment
Requirements
* Relevant qualification in Education, Special Educational Needs, or a related field
* Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one
* Experience teaching Foundation Learning, SEN, or learners with additional needs in a Further Education setting
* Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation
* Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
* Ability to motivate and support learners with a range of abilities and backgrounds
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults
