CONSTRUCTION MANAGER – AMP

Location: Bournemouth

A career development opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Manager to join our growing team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business in the Bournemouth area.

Galliford Try have been appointed as a Principal Contractor for the Wessex Water AMP framework so you will be working as part of an experienced, high performance team delivering Design & Build projects on this £ AMP framework.

Ideally, you will based in or around the Bournemouth area and you will have the opportunity to travel across multiple high value sites/projects in the Region.

What you will be doing:

As the Construction Manager you will manage high performance teams during the construction phase of the project. This will include:

1. Co-ordination of constructability input during preliminary design phase.
2. Planning, co-ordination and allocation of construction staff ensuring the most efficient and effective use of the resources.
3. Liaise with Project Managers, Site Team and HR teams to ensure that the construction resource pool is developed to satisfy the identified requirements of the portfolio of projects.
4. Overall Management of construction resources including labour, plant and material.
5. Performance and relationship management of subcontractors.
6. Identify discipline specific technical issues and feedback to the detail design team for resolution.
7. Ensure that the construction teams are accountable for their performance against agreed schedules and man hour budgets.
8. Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation.
9. Ensure that all temporary and permanent construction activities are carried out in accordance with the contract specific quality plan.
10. Recognise that Health and Safety considerations are central to all tasks and contribute to ensuring safe working. environment for all. Ensure safety is the priority for all activities.

About you:

11. Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures
12. Promote a positive safety, quality and FREDIE culture.
13. Able to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the Galliford Try values - Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Collaboration
14. Proven experience in successfully managing multiple teams contributing to their professional development.
15. First class project management capabilities able to showcase a track record of delivering to client’s expectations.
16. Able to demonstrate relevant managerial and/or technical experience at a senior level.
17. Desirable: Member of a relevant Professional Body and/or relevant qualification HND/Degree Engineering or equivalent.
18. Relevant CSCS card.
19. Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages
