New Directions Education are currently recruiting a Design & Technology Teacher to work in a highly regarded secondary school in Chester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and motivated teacher to join a well-resourced DT department and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The Role:
1. Planning and delivering engaging Design & Technology lessons
2. Teaching across specialist areas such as product design, resistant materials, engineering, and/or graphics (dependent on experience)
3. Supporting practical, hands-on learning using modern workshop facilities
4. Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on student progress
5. Maintaining a safe, well-organised, and inclusive workshop environment
6. Contributing to the wider life of the school and the Design & Technology department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK teaching qualification
8. Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level
9. Strong practical skills and confident use of workshop machinery and tools
10. The ability to deliver high-quality practical and theory-based lessons
11. Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
12. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
