We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a Ward Clerk to be based on Ward 8, Royal Glamorgan Hospital.

Good organisational and communication skills are essential as well as a flexible approach to work.

We aim to provide a high standard of care within our ward and we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, has a friendly manner and an excellent work ethic.


Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have ideally have previous office and front of house experience, ideally in a similar role within the NHS, Social Care or other health related environment.

A good general education, 3 GCSEs or equivalent, are required.

Knowledge of Health Board IT systems to include Myrddin would be desirable, although full training will be given.

The successful candidate will be able to work in a busy environment that has high acuity and activity and have a sensitive, caring and non-judgmental attitude towards others.

They must also be flexible in their role and will be expected to assist with discharge planning.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
