Responsibilities
* Acting as the identified nurse for a group of patients by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating their care.
* Providing personal care to patients including pressure sore prevention, toileting and catheter care.
* Taking and electronically recording patient’s vital signs and blood glucose and acting upon the results.
* Carrying out and documenting patient risk assessments and implementing measures to reduce risk and keep patients safe.
* Administering medications via various routes.
* Supporting and supervising junior members of staff in giving high standards of care.
* Liaising with the multidisciplinary team.
* Participating in planning timely and safe discharges.
Contract Details
Band 5, full time, fixed term 6‑month contract. Covers days, nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
Shift Pattern
Long days (07:30‑20:00), nights (19:30‑08:00), early (07:30‑15:30) and late (12:30‑20:00).
Location
East Kent Hospitals, Marlowe.
Eligibility and Checks
Most positions require a Disclosure and Barring check and will be exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Posts working regularly or unsupervised with children or vulnerable adults require an enhanced check. Applicants for Tier 2 sponsorship must meet UK Visas and Immigration eligibility criteria.
