Distant Islands Allowance of £2,380 per annum

This exciting role will allow the successful applicant to work alongside the Lead Diabetes Specialist Nurse in the delivery of care across NHS Shetland.
We are seeking an experienced nurse, with previous medical experience who is committed and has a knowledge of evidence based care. You will have excellent communication, IT skills, organisation and teaching skills, together with an enthusiasm to bring new ideas to the service. The ability to work autonomously and within the multidisciplinary team setting is essential.
The post holder will receive full support from the Lead Diabetes Specialist nurse and will be given the opportunity to develop and expand their clinical skills to a more advanced level.
On completion of set clinical competencies as a Band 5, the post holder will then undertake more advanced training and development as part of the Band 6 aspect of the role – approximately 12 months from appointment.
