An opportunity has arisen for a Salaried GP position at The Denmead Practice. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed GP to join our experienced and dedicated team.
We are a well-established Practice situated in Denmead, Hampshire with easy access to the motorway and the South Downs National Park. The team has an excellent skill mix whereby the GPs and Nursing team work closely together to provide first-rate patient access.
The role consists of 4 sessions worked over 3 day; Tuesday AM, Wednesday all day and Friday PM.
The salary is competetive, and dependent on experience. Informal visits to the Practice are welcome
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will have experience in General Practice and will work collaboratively with the whole practice team to deliver an excellent experience that meets the needs of the patients.
You will hold your own patient list as we believe that continuity of care is important for both the patient and the doctor,
You will be responsible for the complete patient journey, from consultation through to all the associated admin that accompanies them. You will apply critical thinking and practices within professional boundaries, be proactive and a driver for change, assist in the training, development and clinical supervision of practice personnel and medical students.
Youbwill be required to undertake one duty session per week.
A buddy system applies and you will cover a nominated GP's pathology and urgent admin when on leave, and vice versa.
We are part of Havant and Waterlooville PCN, our Home visiting team will ensure most home visits are covered, however where not applicable or there is no capcaity, you will be responsible for visiting your housebound patients when required.
Adhere to policies and procedures and provide guidance to the practice team as required.

We are an EMIS Web practice, using various IT software including eConsult, Accurx, Anima and Medlink and run personal GP lists to enable continuity of care.

Job responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities to include:
* Provide a full range of NHS general medical services to registered patients.
* Undertake face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations.
* Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
* Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with national and local guidelines.
* Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services.
* Manage home visits where clinically appropriate.
* Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using the practice clinical system.
* Participate in safeguarding procedures for vulnerable adults and children.
* Support continuity of care and patient-centred decision making
* Work closely with the dispensary team to promote safe and cost-effective prescribing.
* Ensure compliance with dispensing regulations and prescribing governance.
* Assist with medication reviews and repeat prescribing processes.
* Support medicines optimisation initiatives within the practice.
* Contribute to the safe management of dispensary-related clinical queries.
* Work collaboratively with GP partners, nursing staff, pharmacists, administrative staff, and allied healthcare professionals.
* Participate in clinical meetings, significant event reviews, and practice audits.
* Contribute to quality improvement activities and achievement of QOF and enhanced services targets.
* Support training and mentoring of medical students, GP registrars, or other learners where appropriate.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of practice policies and procedures.
Admin responsibilities will include:
* Complete clinical correspondence, reports, and referrals in a timely manner.
* Process pathology and radiology results efficiently.
* Maintain compliance with GMC standards and NHS contractual requirements.
* Participate in practice meetings and mandatory training as required.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and licence to practise.
* Inclusion on the NHS Performers List.
Experience

* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Good organisational and IT skills.
* Previous experience working in a dispensing practice.
* Interest in community healthcare.
