The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work with our excellent existing clients and intermediaries, providing a great opportunity to build and expand their network and be instrumental in winning new business.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing team with a supported flexible approach to working, and proven progression potential. We are currently looking to expand our Funds Tax team and are keen to speak with experienced Tax advisors.
Your key responsibilities
1. Overall responsibility for leading the management and delivery of UK tax reporting and UK tax transaction analysis for a range of private equity clients.
2. Provision of development support to junior members of the team through effective supervision, coaching and mentoring.
3. Contribution to people initiatives, including retaining and training our team.
4. Pursuit of business development opportunities.
5. Management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects for their clients, ensuring technical excellence and practical / business focus approach taken
6. Significant role in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and also through managing junior staff development and assignments.
Skills and attributes for success
7. Relevant/appropriate tax experience in a similar role. Technical and practical knowledge and experience in advising UK and non-UK Private Equity Houses
8. Client focused, strategically and commercially aware. Management and delivery of client expectations, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business driven approach.
9. Strong tax technical skills
10. Strong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs to clients
11. Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines.
12. Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral.
13. Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwards.
To qualify for the role you must have
14. CTA/ ACA / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification / or breadth of knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualification
15. Strong tax technical skills
16. Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
17. Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff
18. Knowledge of the taxation of partnerships and private equity funds
Qualifications
19. CTA preferred;
20. ATT/ACA/CA/ACCA with relevant tax experience: or
21. Demonstrable experience in a managerial role within a private equity tax environment.
Ideally, you’ll also have
22. Project management skills, plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget
23. Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically
24. Experience in private equity fund compliance in the following areas: Private equity fund transaction analysis; Private equity Partnership computations and returns; Investor Reporting.
