The Role
As a Private Client Solicitor (2+ PQE), you\'ll join a highly experienced and friendly team handling a wide range of sophisticated private client work. The team\'s caseload includes complex estates, capital tax planning, trusts, and succession matters for long-standing and high-net-worth clients.
* Handling high-value and technical private client work, including capital tax planning, asset protection, and succession planning
* Advising on capital tax mitigation and reliefs, especially for agricultural and business assets
* Creating and managing trusts and advising on alterations to existing structures
* Overseeing trust compliance, including Trust Registration Service obligations
* Drafting wills, powers of attorney, letters of wishes, trusts, and related deeds
* Advising on life insurance and trusts as part of estate planning
* Administering complex estates, including taxable estates, intestacies, and estates with business or agricultural property
* Preparing inheritance tax returns, liaising with HMRC, and drafting full estate accounts
* Advising on post-death tax planning, including deeds of variation and disclaimer
About You
You'll be a confident, detail-oriented solicitor who enjoys technical work and building long-term relationships with clients.
Requirements:
* Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years\' PQE in Private Client work
* STEP membership (desirable, or willingness to undertake the qualification)
* Strong academic background and technical understanding of estate/tax law
* Excellent drafting, communication, and organisational skills
* Ability to manage and prioritise a varied caseload effectively
